Located in the heart of the Charlotte metro area, The Hive Performance Academy is a premier cheer and dance studio dedicated to developing confident, skilled, and empowered young performers. With a foundation built on professional experience and a deep passion for the art of movement, we use dance and cheer as powerful tools for character development.

Meet Your Directors
At the helm of The Hive Performance Academy are co-founders and directors Brandi Hopson and Zaria Franklin—two dynamic leaders with a shared vision and unwavering passion for youth development through cheer and dance. With years of professional experience both on and off the stage, Brandi and Zaria bring a powerful blend of technique, mentorship, and heart to everything they do.

Brandi, a former Carolina Panthers Cheerleader and 2025 Pro Bowl selection, is a powerhouse coach and mentor known for her energy, leadership, and commitment to empowering young performers.

Zaria, a UNC Charlotte graduate and former TopCats captain, is a dedicated dance educator and community advocate who uses the arts to inspire confidence, creativity, and growth.

Their mission goes beyond choreography—they are dedicated to creating a safe, empowering environment where young performers can build confidence, grow in discipline, and thrive creatively. Together, they lead The Hive with purpose, positivity, and a commitment to building a strong, connected community
